The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Housekeeper to join an established team at a beautiful private residence near Padstow, Cornwall.
We are seeking a proactive, highly organised and hands-on professional who takes pride in maintaining exceptional standards, leading housekeeping staff and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the household.
A background in private household service, particularly working with HNW Principals, or experience in a comparable high-end, client-focused environment would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and supervising housekeeping staff, allocating duties and ensuring consistently high standards of work.
- Maintaining the property to an exceptional standard, including cleaning, laundry, ironing and preparing guest accommodation.
- Caring for antiques, fine furnishings, delicate finishes and high-value household items.
- Planning ahead and ensuring cleaning products, equipment and household supplies are well stocked.
- Working discreetly and respectfully around the Principals, maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Coordinating household tasks, liaising with suppliers and tradespeople, and following up on outstanding maintenance or other jobs.
- Undertaking hands-on housekeeping duties as required and leading by example.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a senior housekeeping role, ideally within a private household or a comparable high-end service environment.
- Previous experience managing or supervising housekeeping staff.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
- A proactive, practical approach, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
- A discreet, professional and trustworthy manner, with a strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent references and a full, valid driving licence.
The Property
The substantial private residence comprises a main house with six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and six reception rooms, alongside a guest house featuring four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a large open-plan living area. The property also includes additional facilities and outbuildings.
