Job Description:
Our client a national electrical retailer and manufacturer are seeking a head of technical to join their team on a permanent basis.
What we offer:
- £40,000-£45,000 per annum.
- Full time hours
- Permanent position
The role:
- This role requires you to work closely with the Technical Director as the business’s day-to-day technical lead.
- This role is a critical associate position, acting as the Technical Director’s right hand and supporting both day-to-day responsibilities and long-term strategic growth.
- It will involve forming a bridge between technical, commercial, and operational functions, ensuring that product, project, and customer requirements are delivered with technical accuracy and consistency across all Fraser Hammerton Group brands.

Requirements:
- Qualified electrician (essential) with strong practical, hands-on experience
- Demonstrable interest in lighting systems, controls, and smart technologies
- Strong technical grounding within a product-based or project-led environment
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to balance technical integrity with business needs
- Confident communicator, able to translate technical detail into clear, practical guidance
- Willingness to travel (UK and internationally) for supplier visits, exhibitions, and product evaluation
- Comfortable working in both strategic and hands-on environments, including practical electrical tasks when required
- Interest in using technology, including AI, to improve technical support and knowledge sharing
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and driven by continuous improvement
- Ambition to grow into a senior technical leadership role within the business
