National Temporary Workers Week 2 - 6 June 2008
Its National Temporary Workers week between 2nd and 6th June and the Cornwall Staff Agency are celebrating with its clients and saying a huge ‘thank you’ to its temporary workforce.
There are currently over 1.4 million temporary workers on assignment in the UK each week, in roles ranging from waiting staff/chefs to secondary school teachers. They are on the factory floor and in the operating theatre; they are running multinational business as Interim Managers and they are looking after newborn babies as trained nannies. The flexibility and dynamism that these remarkable people bring to their work is an important reason why the British economy continues to lead in Europe.
National Temporary Worker Week is an annual event run by the recruitment industry trade association, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), to all UK temporary and contract workers. In 2008 the Week is celebrated from 2-6 June and will feature events and activities by hundreds of agencies around the country, culminating in a prestigious awards ceremony at the Houses of Parliament.
At the Cornwall Staff Agency we are proud to play our part in keeping the UK economy moving, and are doing a number of things to celebrate the achievements of these workers as part of a national campaign.
This year, Cornwall Staff Agency will be participating in many ways.
• Holding a pamper week at their St Austell office where all visitors will be offered tea/coffee/cakes and a relaxing head massage!
• Our team of consultants will each be working a number of shifts alongside their temps at a variety of our client businesses in support.
• Visiting many of our temporary workers on site and bringing along a ‘thank you’ treat
• All temporary workers who work or register throughout this week will be entered into a prize draw with first prize being return flights to Dublin for a weekend for 2 (other goodies to be won!)
We are pround to say we have a fantastic workforce who work continuously hard and are pleased that our clients are adding their voices to ours in saying a big “Thank You” to these unsung heroes of the working world’
Thank you to all of our temporary workers, we hope to see you thoroughout this week!
