Our client is a highly regarded independent restaurant in the heart of Falmouth, known for its vibrant menus, exceptional local produce, and strong team culture. They are seeking a talented Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef to join their kitchen leadership team and play a key role in delivering outstanding food and service.
Working closely with the Head Chef and existing Sous Chef, you will help lead a busy kitchen, support menu development, maintain high standards, and inspire the team around you.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service
- Assist with menu development and food costing
- Monitor stock, food costs, and waste control
- Maintain exceptional food quality and consistency
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
- Train and develop junior team members
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Experience in a quality-led, fast-paced kitchen
- Knowledge of menu costing, stock control, and waste management
- Passion for fresh food and high standards
- Calm, organised, and positive under pressure
- £38,000 per annum
